Our Story
More than ten years ago, Cindy Porras and Dennis Apu first crossed paths while working at the same tourism company in Costa Rica. Cindy worked as an administrative manager, building lasting connections with clients through every email and call, learning firsthand what travelers truly need when they arrive in an unfamiliar country. Dennis worked as a microbus driver, meeting guests at airports, navigating Guanacaste’s roads and developing a deep understanding of what makes a journey memorable rather than just routine.
Life took each of them in different directions for a while, but the passion they had cultivated for Costa Rica’s tourism industry never faded. A year ago, their paths crossed again, this time as a couple, and with that reunion came a shared realization: together, they had exactly the experience, the complementary skills and the drive to build something of their own. That is how Tamarindo Travel came to be, assembled from the ground up, often without outside help, decision by decision.
